More for the University of Birmingham: Beyond the Best-Selling Label. Patricia Cornwell and Kay Scarpetta

I mentioned last week I have written some articles for the University of Birmingham’s new and super cool blog on Popular Culture and the second one is already out! This time I talk about one of my favourite writers, Patricia Cornwell and her Kay Scarpetta series. More here backhand-index-pointing-down

Nice profile of the author and her work! I’ve actually never read one of her books. But it looks like the earlier ones might be worth investigating. I think that as any author gets older and continues to publish books so quickly, they are bound to deteriorate in quality, right? I hear that a lot with many authors, like Stuart Woods and James Patterson. But Cornwell certainly is a pioneer in crime fiction, that’s undeniable.

Thank you, Laila. Postmortem is the first one in the series and it is so interesting to see how DN was not part of the detecting process that, as someone who grew up with CSI it seems impossible to believe. Please let me know if you finally read one of her novels. I’d love to hear what you think
