2014 Recap

Happy New Year, bookworms!

Because I love lists, these are some of the highlights of 2014 at Books & Reviews:

As for my 2015 reading resolutions…

I have none! If I learned something about myself during my English and American Literature degree is that I’m at my happiest when I read without restrictions, deadlines, plans or any kind of structure. However, I would like to set a routine to check blogs that I love one day every week, but this has been impossible until now.

What about you? How did 2014 go for you reading-wise? And do you have any specific plans for 2015?

Quite a year – and I am impressed by your very high percentage of women writers (I think I am at roughly 50-50). Thank you also for taking part in my interview about your reading habits! Good luck for a carefree serendipitous meander along the reading meadows in 2015!

Happy New Year! It sounds like you had a great reading 2014–I hope 2015’s more of the same!

I don’t like calling it a resolution, but I’d really like to not let others’ blog posts sit longer than one week unread this year. And I’d like to do better at commenting, as I feel I’ve been lacking in that area lately… (so here I am 😉 ) Beyond that just read, read, read–without limitations or (too many) plans.

Happy New Year, Amanda! I totally agree with the reading blogs and commenting, because I’ve been terrible at it of lately… Hope to see each other around more often 🙂

  • Saari

Wow! Looks like you had a really good year! ^_^

For me 2014 was very slow where reading was concerned, and even slower where blogging was concerned. However, I did find myself a new favourite – Ben-Hur. It is absolutely beautiful, and I’m hoping to read it again this year as well!

2015 is looking exciting reading-wise, so far. I have begun re-reading The Lord of the Rings. It’s been nearly 15 years since I last read it, and I am thoroughly enjoying it! I’ve joined a handful of challenges that have me feeling very excited about them. Whether I stick to them or not is a completely different issue. I don’t intend pressurising myself to follow them if I don’t feel like it. To me, they are merely guidelines for my reading year. 😀

Anyway, happy reading for the new year, Elena!! 🙂

I did, Saari, thank you! I remember some things about your offline life, so it’s not a surprise that you didn’t have time to read or write! I really don’t know how women like you do it….

Happy New Year to you too!

      • Saari

Personally, I take it one day at a time…sometimes a moment at a time, ’cause when I try to think ahead my brain just fuses!! Hehehe… But, when one loves doing stuff, one tries ones best to make a wee bit of time for it, at the very least. 😀

        And thank you! ^_^

    • Elena

Happy New Year, Sarah! It took me a long time to learn about he best way to manage my reading, but I’ve finally realized that I need total freedom.

I’m just glad I found your blog because its been a pleasure. I have no plans for 2015 other than to discover some great books. Take care, Elena.
